MSA Child and Adolescent center

Here is an amazing resource for group therapy, art therapy, and psychiatric services for children and teens.  MSA Child and Adolescent center is located in Columbia MD and is one resource for child and adolescent psychiatric services.

My Review

While I usually do not refer clients immediately for psychiatric services if you are looking for medication management for a child or adolescent MSA is a great resource.  The programs for group and art therapy are 6-8 week programs.

My review

As a clinician who likes to focus on research based theories and practices I believe this website as great information. Juvenile Bipolar is a controversial subject but I have seen this diagnosis used quite a few times while working in the residence and once in my own practice.  The behaviors are extreme and can be very hard to deal with as a parent or a clinician, so this resource will be extremely helpful to anyone who feels they need more information.

Juvenile Bipolar Research foundation

This is a website that is cited in the book "The Bipolar Child" under Books below. This website has information for both families and clinicians that is research based. The information for parents ranges from "What is Juvenile Bipolar" to " Educational Concerns" and help.  The checklist that is available in the book below is also available on this website.

The Bipolar Child

This book is a great resource for a parent who may be concerned about bipolar in their child.  It is a very informative book and even has a checklist of symptoms that help the parent determine whither Bipolar may be what they are dealing with.  There are also stories by parents dealing with bipolar children.

My review

While I diagnose Bipolar in children extremely rarely, this book is a great resource for both parents and professionals as to possible symptoms and treatment for childhood Bipolar.
